Winakwa’s mini soccer program is back for the spring and due to covid will be operating with some small changes. We will be operating within pandemic restrictions and guidelines to keep the players, coaches and spectators as safe as possible. Some changes you will see are fairly self explanatory in providing hand sanitizer at the field to be used by players and coaches. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach please indicate at time of registration, all coaches are parent volunteers. We will also be ramping up the cleaning of equipment.
Teams will look a bit different also. Current Manitoba Health orders dictate that we can not allow teams to play with or against other teams. To combat this issue we are increasing the size of the teams and having inter squad games. Teams can be shuffled throughout the season to mitigate the issue of playing the same team each week.
Where we can fields will be sprayed with a little more space between them so that we can facilitate the requirement of fans staying 6 feet apart. We also have some plans to spray some games and drills on the field so coaches can cut down on prep times and spend more time instructing players.

Mini Soccer 5/6 is Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-7
Tykes Soccer 7/8 is Monday and Wednesday 6-7/7-8 alternating times
Have you ever wanted to help out coaching but don’t feel that you have the knowledge?? Coaches are what make our soccer program so successful. Without coaches, kids cannot have fun and enjoy this beautiful summer sport.
Here at Winakwa, we will again be setting up some spring coaching clinics that will help you feel confident in leading a group of children in their pursuit to be the next Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. So, let this not be your excuse in helping your child pursuit his dream, become your child’s hero by become a coach at Winakwa.

We have swapped out 200 pairs of shoes so far. In order to continue our success, we ask if you have any soccer shoes (Indoor or Outdoor) that you would like to donated to please drop them off to myself (Roger Moreira) or the Club anytime between now and prior to our registration night. We will be having the Soccer Shoe Swap at our spring and fall registration night. If you want to swap a pair of shoes for another pair we will be asking for a $5 donation (U3 – U8) and $10 donation for (U9 – U18). These donations will be used to start a High School Scholarship Program for a deserving Student who shows leadership in their Community.
