Winakwa is wonderful place to hold your next event, birthday party, meeting, weekly practices and more!

We have 3 multipurpose rooms and a gymnasium to meet your needs.  Please use the contact form, email, call or stop  by to see our spaces and how they might work for you.

A perfect room to have your social, wedding, corporate training or fundraiser!  The main hall have lovely vaulted ceilings and access to a kitchen serving area.  This room also has a sound system.


Capacities*: 

  • Gathering/Dinner: 120
  • Classroom seating: 72
  • Theatre seating: 185
  • LGCA Maximum: 240.

Perfect for meetings, dance practice or family dinner - this main floor room includes a kitchenette.

Our most popular room - the 2nd floor room is ideal for showers, birthdays, and gathering of all kinds.  This room includes a kitchen serving area and attached bathrooms.

Please note: this room is only accessible by stairs

  • Classroom seating: 24
  • Theatre seating: 55
  • LGCA Maximum: 80.


Sound system and stage are not available for this room.

Host your next social, wedding or large party at Winakwa!  Our social package includes at least 9 hours of rental time, set up, clean up, supervisors, bartenders, variety of juices and mixes, ice, and coffee.

Events booked in the gym also include usage of MPR 1 for any extras you might have.

Alcohol Service

A Winakwa bartender is mandatory for all bookings serving alcohol. Service not available on weekdays during the day.

  •  A LGCA permit must be obtained for your event 
  • The permit holder must be present for the entire event.
  • NO glass – including but not limited to bottles, drinkware & serve ware.
  • Alcohol will be stored securely until the end of your event; at which time it must be removed from the hall.

Event Rental Information

Almost everything you need to know when renting from us!

Once a request has been received you will be contacted with available options.  To finalize your booking, complete and return the provided contract by the requested date.  


Yes!  You can set up your event as it suits your needs


Set up and clean up (tear down) are to be done during your rental period


Yes!  Only use 'fun tak' or painters tape when affixing decorations to the walls (nothing on the ceiling).

NO tacks, staples, packing or duct tape!


All decorations must come down at the end of the event.


During your rental time.  Renters have access to the room during the time on thier contract.  Please plan accordingly.


No - Do not decorate with:

  • Glitter
  • Confetti
  • Sparkles 
  • Coloured sand or powder
  • Fog or bubble
  • Candles

If you are unsure, please ask!


Yes! A selection of toys is available for rent.  Please see our 'Pre-school Toy Package' under options above. 


Yes!  Both large and small shows can be held here - from 4 - 42 tables.  Please see the information sheet below for more details.  


Common spaces are not included in the rental and cannot be used

This includes but is not limited to: 

  • Lobby
  • Hallways
  • Outdoor fields
  • Dressing rooms


We use standard 8' banquet tables for most events


Upon request, round tables may be available in the Linda Boyd Studio - please let us know if you would prefer round tables on the booking form above.  We will do our best to accomodate your request

Round tables are 60"


Please only book events for your own group!  The contract signer must be at the event. 


All our rooms have serving areas.


However we do not allow cooking in any of our rooms.  Please do not bring cookers/hotplates of any kind. - including gas.


What comes in, must go out! 

  

  • Remove all decorations from walls
  • All items brought in must be removed after the event
  • Wipe down counters and kitchen appliances
  • If you borrowed it from us - you must wash and return it 
  • All garbage must be disposed of into our garbage bin located on the north side of the building
  • Clean and return all tables and chairs to their storage areas
  • Tables in stacks of 15, chairs in stacks of 10
  • All cleaning supplies and garbage bags will be provided by the staff
  • Turn off all lights and have the supervisor confirm the room is complete and your event has ended.


No.  We do not allow bouncers of any kind in the facility


No.  We do not allow 'smash cakes' or other extremely messy activities.  


No, payment in full is due 7 days after a contract is returned to us. 


We accept VISA, MasterCard, debit, exact cash, and cheque.  We also accept payments online through our online payment system - VISA, MasterCard and VISA debit.

Yes! We have two coffee urns available for our renters - 100 cup & 45 cup capacities. 

We do not provide coffee, coffee fixings, cups or other kitchenware


We have 90 parking stalls.  

Be kind to the environment and consider car-pooling!


Event Refund Policy:

  • No refund if cancelled with out 30 days notice 
  • Cancellation with 30 days notice is a $50.00 fee
  • All refunds are issued by cheque and mailed to the lessee
