The role of Convenor is an important one for the proper functioning of our summer season. Though the duties listed below may seem long, the Convenor has the full backing and support of the Winakwa board, facility manager and outgoing convenor who will assist where necessary.
In summary, the Convenor’s job is to ensure the on-field operation of the baseball teams function in a manner consistent with Winnipeg Minor baseball goals and philosophy. At the outset of the year, the Convenor’s main job is to run the team assignment process.
Once teams are selected, the Convenor ensures coaches receive all the tools and resources available to them. Beyond that the convenor will act in a support role for the assigned teams.
