Welcome to Winakwa Baseball

2021 Season


UPDATE!! 

Tryout Dates: Saturday April 24th & Sunday April 25th, 2021

Rain Dates: Saturday May 1st & Sunday May 2nd or sooner if possible

Location: Southdale Community Centre Baseball Fields

- We will be itilizing all 4 baseball fieldss and the batting cages


Tryout Schedule: 

  • Saturday April 24th @ 8AM to 12PM - U18 AAA & AA Combined
  • Saturday April 24th @ 1:15PM to 5:15PM - U11 AA
  • Sunday April 25th @ 8AM to 12PM - U15 AAA & AA Combined
  • Sunday April 25th at 1:15PM to 5:15 PM - U13 AAA & AA Combined

Registration

Winakwa online registration will be open from April 1 st – April 16 th. Tryouts for the older groups will be held on Saturday April 17 th and Sunday April 18 th, please make sure to follow the link for the Bonivital Baseball Tryouts and get registered for that if you intend on trying out.

Winakwa and Bonivital Baseball will be following all health orders regarding Covid 19 and will update players/coaches/parents as the information becomes available to us Based on current health orders, return to play is set for around May 15 th. It is expected that this will change in the coming weeks and start closer to the beginning of May.


RAMP

RAMP Interactive is a new program that is used by Baseball Manitoba which includes a digital baseball waiver that must be signed prior to the baseball season starting. After completing your Winakwa registration, please follow this link to register your child in RAMP. There is no cost for this.

2021 Baseball Season

Online registration will be from April 1 st to April 16 th

We will again be hosting teams from 5 years old to 18 years old. Below you will find the 2021

cost and breakdown of each program.

U15 ................................................................2006, 2007 ......................................................$300.00

U18 ................................................................2003, 2004, 2005 .........................................$450.00


***A $20 Activity fee will be added per child/per sport up to a $60 maximum per family


Rally Cap –. The teams are run with parent volunteers as the coaches and you have a choice of Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Players can choose friends they would like to play with and we will make all efforts to accommodate their requests. Mandatory equipment required is a batters helmet and a baseball glove. Optional equipment are baseball cleats and baseball pants. Please follow the link to find more information on the Rally Cap program:

Grand Slam – The teams are run with parent volunteers as the coaches and you have a choice of Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Players can choose friends they would like to play with and we will make all efforts to accommodate their requests. A pitching machine is introduced at Grand Slam level. Mandatory equipment required is a batters helmet and a baseball glove. Optional equipment are baseball cleats and baseball pants. Please follow the link to find more information on the Grand Slam

U11 –U11 has 2 levels of baseball A and AA


U11 A ball is community club baseball which is played in a league with all other U11 teams within the Bonivital catchment. There are usually 2 games and 1 practice per week. You will automatically be placed on an A team if you choose not to attend tryouts. Tryouts are not mandatory. Winakwa usually hosts 2 teams.


U11 AA ball is a more competitive level of baseball in which tryouts are held. They play

in a city wide league, have 2 games and 2 practices per week and have the potential to attend an out of town tournament, cities and provincials. Winakwa usually hosts one of the U11AA teams.


U13 – U13 has 3 levels of baseball A, AA and AAA

U15 – U15 has 3 levels of baseball A, AA and AAA

U18 – U18 has 3 levels of baseball A, AA and AAA


A ball is community club baseball which is played in a league consisting of all teams from Bonivital Minor and Red River Valley Minor Baseball Associations. There are usually 2 games and 1 practice per week. You will automatically be placed on an A team if you choose not to attend tryouts. Tryouts are not mandatory. Winakwa usually hosts a U15 team out of Maginot diamond.


AA ball is a more competitive level of baseball in which tryouts are held. They play in a city wide league, have 2 games and 2 practices per week and have the potential to attend an out of town tournament , cities and provincials. Winakwa usually hosts a U15 AA team out of Provencher diamond.


AAA – Bonivital Black Sox – The most competitive level of ball, tryouts are held and the team plays in a city wide league. Usually there are 2 games and 2-3 practices per week. There will likely be 1-2 out of town tournaments, cities and the potential to play in provincials
