Our Garden Vibe:

We're all about growing more than just veggies here! Through the Winakwa Garden Program, we're cultivating a super-friendly community where everyone can dig in (literally!) to:

• Grow Together: We're building connections, one seed at a time. It's the perfect place to meet your neighbors and make some garden buddies.
• Love Our Planet: Let's get our hands dirty and learn how to be awesome environmental stewards! We're all about sustainable gardening practices that help our planet thrive.
• Live Healthy: Fresh air, sunshine, and homegrown goodness – it's the recipe for a happy, healthy you! Plus, there's nothing like the peace and quiet of a garden to help you unwind.

Your Garden Plot Awaits!

Want to get your own little patch of green? Our raised garden boxes are 3' x 9' – perfect for growing your favorite goodies without having to hunch over! We've got water totes on-site to help kickstart your watering needs.

A few garden guidelines to keep things growing smoothly:

• BYOT (Bring Your Own Tools): Grab your trusty trowel and gloves!
• Water Wisely: Bring your own watering can to keep your plants happy.
• Mind Your Own Box: Please stick to your assigned raised garden box.
• Lend a Hand: We appreciate help with weeding and watering the shared in-ground areas!

Rent a Raised Garden Box – It's Easy!

• Registration happens every spring and continues until all raised boxes are full. You can sign up online through the Winakwa Community Centre website.
• Good news! To make sure everyone has a chance to grow their own food, the raised garden box fee is still only $20!
• Boxes are snapped up on a first-come, first-served basis, so get in quick! We have 36 in total.
• Previous gardeners, you can request your old box, but no guarantees – it depends on demand!
• Raised garden boxes are assigned in May by our trusty garden committee!
• Missed out on a box? No worries! We'll put you on the waiting list. Boxes are non-transferable.
• Mark your calendars yearly: Register March 1

High School Garden Power!

A big shout-out to Windsor Park Collegiate and Collège Beliveau! They've got their own in-ground plots, where students learn about food security, soil health, and getting involved in their community. Way to grow, students!

Free Food For All!

To help keep our food accessible, we've designated the North East in-ground plotted areas for everyone in the community. Feel free to harvest from this area!

Free Fruit Anyone?

We've created a mini urban fruit orchard on-site! Come and enjoy free fruit such as apples, pears, plums, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, haskaps and more!
