Bench Donations

 Have you ever thought about remembering or honouring a loved one or important person in your life with a dedicated park bench? Winakwa Community Centre is looking for community sponsors of park benches for the “Path We Walk Together” project on the Winakwa grounds. Benches will be placed along the new pathways near the newly planted trees that will turn the green space into a park space. There are 6+ locations available. A bench donation costs $2,000 and for an additional fee of approximately $275 (plus taxes), a dedication bronze plaque can be added.  

Please contact Jessica Mutimer from the City of Winnipeg to obtain a park bench donation application form at Jmutimer@winnipeg.ca. The City currently accepts payment only by cheque payable to the City of Winnipeg. A tax receipt will be issued to the name on the cheque. Please fill out the form and return it by mail along with a cheque for $2,000 for each bench to the following address:

Bronze plaques are manufactured by an outside supplier called Larsen's Memorials. You contact them directly to find out information on pricing based on length of text and to make arrangements for the plaque. Larsen’s can be reached at 204-633-5053. Plaques can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to be manufactured. Plaques cost approximately $275.00 (plus taxes). Once ordered and paid for, Larsen's will arrange with the City to pick up the plaque and have it attached to the bench.
