 LGCA requires 7 staff/volunteers if 500+ guests attend a social event. 

The lessee agrees to provide to 2 sober volunteers to act as Winakwa Volunteer Staff, if your event exceeds 499 guests

If you are hosting in the Linda Boyd Studio - there is ample room for everything in the Linda Boyd Studio

No.  Your event is private event, not open to the public,  If you wish, people may be added to a list, and pay for thier reserved tickets at the door.

• Always have two people working the ticket tables
• Ticket table volunteers must monitor for and prevent any person exiting the hall with alcoholic drinks
• Please advise a Winakwa staff member of any spills that occur during the evening

• Please make sure you have volunteers to clear tables, remove decorations and take everything out of the hall.
• Hall and parking lot to be vacated by 1:45am

Please only book events for your own group!  The contract signer must be at the event. 

Yes, $500.00 is due 7 days after a rental contract is returned to us.

This is both a damage deposit and to hold the hall.  It will be refunded (assuming no damages) by cheque after your social.

We accept VISA, MasterCard, debit, exact cash, and cheque.  We also accept payments online through our online payment system - VISA, MasterCard and VISA debit.

• A Refundable damage deposit of $500.00 is required to hold the hall. 
• Cancellation with 90 days notice is a $250.00 fee
• Cancellation without 90 days notice there is no refund of your damage deposit  All damage costs will be deducted from the deposit first, excess damages will be invoiced
• Failure to exit the building as requested by 1:45am could incur a partial loss of the damage deposit
• Your damage deposit will be returned in whole or in part within 14 days after your event 
• All refunds will be issued by cheque

We have 90 parking stalls.  

Be kind to the environment and consider car-pooling!

Our social events are designed with your safety and enjoyment in mind. Our team includes two dedicated supervisors who aid in maintaining a pleasant atmosphere by addressing ID verification disputes and promoting responsible behavior, among other duties. They are not tasked with physical intervention or traditional security roles. We believe this approach fosters a welcoming and secure environment for everyone.

We set up all the tables, chairs, and the bar for you.  You get to decorate to your taste.   Please see the decorations section below.

For gym socials we set up 28 tables for seating, 2 for food, 2 for tickets, 1 for your DJ, and at least 4 for prizes.

For a Linda Boyd Studio social we set up 20 for seating, 2 for food, 1 for tickets, 1 for your DJ, and at least 3 for your prizes.

We use standard 8' banquet tables.

Yes!  Only use 'fun tak' or painters tape when affixing decorations to the walls (nothing on the ceiling).

NO tacks, staples, packing or duct tape!

Please bring your own supplies such as scissors, markers and 'fun tak'.

All decorations must come down at the end of the event.

When can I decorate?

On Fridays you have access to the hall at 4:00pm.

On Saturdays you have access to the hall at 1:00pm. 

Winakwa starts social set ups at this time as well. 

Please confirm with the office at the time of booking, these times may change without notice. 

No - Do not decorate with:

• Glitter
• Confetti
• Sparkles 
• Coloured sand or powder
• Fog or bubbles
• Candles

Do not add confetti or similar decorations inside balloons.

What comes in, must go out! 

• Remove all decorations from walls
• All items brought in must be removed after the event
• All garbage must be disposed of into our garbage bin located on the north side of the building

• Please make sure you have volunteers to clear tables, remove decorations and take everything out of the hall.
